The Gift of ADD/MAA

The Gift of ADD/MAA (Multiple Attention Ability) For the kingdom of heaven is just like a father about to go on a journey, who called his own children, and entrusted his possessions to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey. The one who had received the five talents went to school and one of his talents was test taking, and the schools awarded him with five more talents. In the same manner she who had received the two talents gained two more as she also was gifted in the art of taking tests. But he who received the one talent went away to school and the system says you have no talent for taking tests and they helped him or her dig in the ground, and hid the beautiful unique talent and gift their father had given them. Now after a long time the father of those children came to see what they had accomplished with the precious talents and abilities he had given them. And the one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, 'Father, you entrusted five talents to me; see, I have gained five more talents.' His father said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful child; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the joy of your Father.' The one also who had received the two talents came up and said, 'Father, you entrusted to me two talents; see, I have gained two more talents.' His Father said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful child; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your father.' And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, 'Father, I knew you to be a hard man, expecting me to get top grades in school like those other children. 'And I was afraid, because at school they said I had ADD an Attention Deficit Disorder and they encouraged me to hide your talent in the ground; see, here it is just as you first gave it to me. But his father answered and said to him, 'You are perceived by others as evil and lazy but I know this to be different. Your talent and gift of creativity, art, thinking outside the box is just as beautiful and important as those given the talent of academics and test taking. The world, needs your gift. Use your gift my child with MAA, Multiple Attention Ability. For to everyone who has shall more be given, and he shall have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. In that place of unused talents there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For Health Quest RadioThis is Dr. Dana Pletcher, with the Other Side of the Story.
