Unrighteous Managed Care

Unrighteous From Luke 18 to the Present "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.' 4 For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!'" 6 And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

Since winning the California Propositions against Ralph Nader and we the people, The Managed Care Insurance industry seems to neither fear God or care about people. Like the unrighteous judge, In these days of the unrighteous managed care organizations, Jesus' parable still applies. When you and I approach the HMO's with our request for a medical test or doctors treatment their first response is a refusal. It seems as if our health insurer has become our adversary.

As a doctor, My best advice to you is to follow Jesus's words. Keep coming back, telephoning daily, writing repeatedly to your unrighteous HMO or PPO. Eventually like the unrighteous judge they will say, "I will grant your request and see that you get the medical care you ask for. Why? Because they fear God or care about you? No, it is because you eventually wear them out with your coming back again and again with your requests. Is your faith such that you will ask day and night. As usual, Jesus's words are practical, eternal and apply today, even to your health insurance injustices.
