Julie's Story

I will never forget the first time I met Rudy Lietke, the physicist and engineer who invented the RJL bioimpedance. In the workshop he told the doctors about many exciting possibilities for measuring our patients progress and health. Rudy also told us that in the studies with aids and cancer patients that the measurements could also tell when death was eminent by the impedance index number. When it was less than 700, unless God did a miracle...well...

I will never forget Julie who came to my office through the nagging, cajoling and the arm twisting of her family. During her first pregnancy at age 24 she began to have torrential nose bleeding. After the MRI's and CT scans it was determined that the vile villain of cancer had visited her during the miracle of the creation of a new life. They delivered the baby one month early and began the chemotherapies, and radiation treatments. 3 months later when Julie's shadow graced our clinic doors, she was a shadow of her former self.

We measured her impedance index and it was 875, much lower than the 1273 or greater it is in health. The detoxification and GI restoration nutritional protocols we coached Julie through began to build her up. In fact after a month her impedance index number rose to 1075. The chiropractic and acupuncture care helped relieve her tremendous pain. What we offered her was not about extending life or curing cancer. I am learning life is not about duration but about contribution and a quality of life rather than quantity. Julie at age 24 had contributed more to life and others than most have by 65. Julie looked and felt better.

The holiday season came and I didn't see Julie for a couple of months until after New Years. She was requiring blood transfusions almost daily now, the radiation and chemotherapy had destroyed her ability to create new blood cells. It was Monday when we measured her impedance index and it was 675. Julie went home to be with the Lord on Saturday. On occasion when I treat the little 6 month old child she had to leave behind, yesI do ask God Why?Why?Why?. I know that all things have a purpose but, Why?

I am on a mission now. Measuring the impedance index of as many people that I can is part of my mission. Also, educating other doctors about this technology is included in my mission. I do it not to track death... but to track life. Have you had your bioimpedance test done yet? Next...
